On 28 November 2026, Ukrainian International Ballet will present the full two-act performance INdependent24 at Singer Laren during a closed charity event for the Harvard Business School Club of the Netherlands alumni community.
The evening will bring together around 400 invited guests in support of Ptakha Camp in Ukraine, with OpenDoorUkraine / ODU as a project partner. The HBS Club of the Netherlands connects and organises events for Netherlands-based Harvard Business School alumni, while Ptakha Camp supports mothers and children from frontline and de-occupied territories of Ukraine.
INdependent24 is a powerful two-act dance performance about identity, resilience, displacement and the search for inner freedom. Through contemporary and neoclassical dance, the work gives voice to Ukrainian artists and reflects on the emotional landscape of a nation living through war while continuing to create, remember and move forward.
With the help of choreography, soulful dances, drama, sarcasm, and apt humor, this ballet will guide you through the emotions of your own soul. The performance invites the audience to immerse themselves, sincerely “release” and analyze their own emotions and their impact on everyday life, and get mental relief during the performance. The choreography, saturated with different moods, provokes and directs the viewer to experience a wide range of feelings. Dmytro Borodai hails from the city of Tokmak in the Zaporizhzhya region and is an outstanding representative of Ukrainian choreography. From 2019 to 2022, he worked at the National Opera of Ukraine, and after 2022 he continued his career at the United Ukrainian Ballet.
