Ukrainian International Ballet at Zuiderparktheater

2026

This summer, Ukrainian International Ballet’s Children’s Group took part in performances at Zuiderparktheater on 29 July and 19 August 2026.

For the young dancers, performing on a real open-air stage is not only an artistic experience, but also an important step in confidence, discipline and working together. The children presented two short choreographic works created within UIB’s small social dance project, led by Iryna Khutorianska.

The first piece, “Oi u Haiu pry Dunaiu” ( Ukrainian song), is inspired by the beauty of human nature and its connection with the natural world. Joyful, tender and soft movements, together with the touching melody of a Ukrainian composition, create a poetic and gentle atmosphere. Through this work, the children show ensemble skills, coordination, softness of classical ballet positions and the ability to keep clear spacing on a large stage.

The second piece, “Pink Panther”, is a solo created for the youngest member of the group, Anzhelika Prykhodon. In this playful work, Anzhelika brings to life the character of Pink Panther, enjoying every moment of movement and dance. The solo gives her the opportunity to show both acting skills and the technical elements she has been developing during classes.

The Children’s Group is a project especially close to our hearts. It was created as a safe and supportive space where children can grow, discover themselves through movement and feel the joy of being part of a group. Together, they learn the basics of classical dance, create simple choreographic pieces, listen to one another, support each other and build trust through movement.

For us, the most beautiful part is not only what happens on stage, but what happens between the children: their smiles, their care for one another, and the quiet confidence that begins to grow when a child feels seen, supported and free to dance.
